After a lifetime of motorcycling in different countries and different climates, it was a real pleasure to read Jonathan's book. As I think back to the fun times as well as the sometimes miserable weather, I can really empathise with him. On a good day in a great place it can be fantastic but, if the weather changes for the worse that same lovely trail can become a treacherous muddy nightmare that will not only exhaust you but leave you looking like the mud monster from the black lagoon. On more than one occasion l have needed to be hosed down before removing my riding suit and leaving it to drip dry in a warm place.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Thumping Great Read! Reviewed in Australia on 21 March 2024 Not at all what I expected - this book had me laughing from the start. The closest I have come to motorbikes in my travelling life was a Honda 50 in my 20's. The night it dumped me onto black ice, I vowed never again. And to that I remain faithful. "Me, Motorbikes' certainly has a lot of mechanical knowledge and real life experience ( like getting off the bike and finding the saddle stuck to your bum!) but it is clever the way it did not overwhelm me as I tagged along the roads of England, Australia, Europe, USA and more. Mushrooms the size of frying pans. The miracle worker "curing" dead engines. The air hostess serving drinks directly from her Garter - just a few of the examples that kept me turning the pages. I love the shared journey between father and son. The "correctional centre" routine trips. The sheer terror of not knowing, mid stream if those were alligator eyes - all this and more made this easily digestible as a "Motobiography" as well as a good laugh. Five stars from me.

The media could not be loaded. A great read, would recommend. Some interesting tales of motorbike adventures.
